On the first leg of my month long road trip, Ellen and I visited Crater Lake in southern Oregon. The first day was completely socked in with fog, so we spent time in the valley below. There is a rich history here of cattle ranching, the windows are from an abandoned hotel that dates back to stagecoach days.

From Crater Lake we dropped down to the redwoods of northern California. Their size is difficult to capture on camera. Once we left all the trees we saw from there on seemed stunted in comparison.

There are captions with some of the images with more information.
